yeah, the star that's on che's baret was given to him by Celia Sanchez (I think) during the Cuban revolution. It's just a basic star pin. I can't find any upclose pictures though.

yes it is, it's just a basic star pin whether Che owned it or I own it, or you own it. It's just a material possession associated with one person in particular, it means nothing other than it's significance, a star that represents socialism. it doesn't matter who owns it :P
Why must we create idols out of each other? It merely makes us unequal.

Che wore it upside down. I don't know why though.

Although I'm not too sure, I think that pin symbolizes his rank. Like the double sword (I think he stole that from an enemy soldier) he wore during the beggingin of the revolution. Of Course I'm not too sure...

Lol @ felicia.
In most pictures it looks like a 4 sided star lol. But those are far away picture. Actually I had found one a year ago, a star, only it was blue. I should paint it red (its about 1 inch big) and put it on my bag. Lol my school would freak. I mearly said 'You can't crush the spirits of a rebellion, because they are civilians who are willing to die for there cause'. I didn't last 1 hour before I was in the psycologists office taking a stupid exam thing. .

lol I always liked to think that he wore the star up-side down, because, at heart, he always was a non-conformist :D.
I know there are pictures out there with close up shots, because I've used them to help draw pictures of the star, but I don't know where the sites are anymore (sorry) You can see it really clearly on the cover of Jon Lee Anderson's Biography, though.

i thought it was some polished metal not red
in one of the pictures i saw it reflects back the flash so bright that only a reflective polished metal could do that...
i wonder who has that star che wore now i'd give an arm and a leg to have that gem

Is it just me...or does Che look very, very dirty? I know, living in a forest is hard to shower, but like, when he was living in cities, did he shower?

Che was very dirty and didn't like to shower. Read "A Revolutionary Life", it will tell you all the details of his dandruff, scruffy hair and broken, mud encrusted finger nails.
All true revolutionaries are that way.

Lol, I shower cause I reek after a few days of lazying around. I shower up to twice a day, especially if I'm going out with a girl ;) . But my hands have always, MUST NEED, have oil or grease on them. I work with engines alot, I love the feeling of that dirty oil on my hands, it's like wearing a small nicely fitted glove.
