Really weird guest activity

This is kind of random, but in the last 20 minutes or so I noticed first that there were 38 people viewing the Theory forum, which is really unusual. I felt compelled to check and they were all guests.

That cluster more or less evaporated and right then, all of a sudden there were 49 people viewing the foreign languages forum, all guests, about half of them reading the Finnish forum which hasn't had a new post in two weeks. It seems like it's mostly diffused now, but there are literally over a hundred fewer guests than there were only ten minutes ago.

What the fuck is this and what does it mean and should we be terrified of a zombie apocalypse?

I believe they are spambots. I saw something similar when looking at the amount of users online.

Edit: Actually, it says 'guest' for you doesn't it? That's very odd. Maybe an agency is spying on the Finnish comrades.
