I have kind of got U-Turn, although It was left at my place one night after a party..apart from that I don't think I will ever buy a DVD...although the Tarintino collection is tempting, as is that double of Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Julliet. Oh also Stanley Kubric is great...hell I have them all round here as well. I love forgetful friends ;)

Really, and do you think I am still in grade school? Do you think I just turned off the movie right after the man in the quicksand? I obviously know that the movie was having fun at racism. My point of the statement is that you are still laughing at racist jokes. You are going to tell me that the whole time throughout the movie you are laughing because it makes fun of racism? No you are laughing because the jokes are racist.
What is it with people ragging on others? It's a damn movie, can you read my mind and know what my thought is? No. You read the one sentence that I wrote.

well maybe if you didnt have to make an excuse for why you have the film i wouldnt have made the comment i did. i dont make excuses for loving Pulp Fiction which has the "Dead Nigger Storage" scene, i am not going to make excuses for watching The Producers which is filled with Nazi references...

you dont have a clue, i said its bullshit to try to make excuses for owning a comedy classic all because a white guy says nigger.

No what is bullshit is that you care that I made that comment... And you seriously a mod? Wow. Now correct me if I am wrong Mr Moderator, but i just couldn't find how you said it was bullshit. I was able to find how you wrote:
if i didn't have to make excuses about it, but you dont do that.
I can't believe I am listening to a teenager get upset about something I have said over a movie.
Here's a question for you... What exactly do I need to do to become a Mod? Make stupid comments? (No pun intended for people that wouldn't normally do something this asinine.)
Lets get mad because I think the movie is full of racist jokes. Oh but I need to be corrected because at the end of the movie you find out its all a joke. And the end gets rid of the jokes already told? How is that, it just justifies them as a joke. But they are still there.
I hope this is enough for you to understand what my comment meant. No need to wet your pants.

truthaddict11
22nd January 2004, 22:55
first off "alwaysquestion" i cant restrict you only administrators can do that.
you just need to lighten up, it was a fucking movie. a comedy for fucks sake. you however have some need to make excuses why you own the movie. i dont see people who listed movies like "Black Hawk Down" or "American History X" defending why they own that movie. but all because a movie has certain jokes you need to make an excuse for owning it.
The movie does make fun of racism as the racists are the villians and get defeated in the end and the townspeople change their ways.
oh no! Quentin Tarantino says dead nigger storage several times in Pulp Fiction! big deal, Harvey Kitel "Mr White" tells Michael Madsen's "Mr Blond" character in Resevoir Dogs that he is begining to sound like a nigger!, big deal. its a fucking fictional movie not a Klan rally. i dont make excuses for owning those 2 movies all because some white guy says nigger.

Your ignorance has prevailed... I guess I am an idiot for making a comment. I dearly apologize for ruining your day and causing you soo much trouble as to arguing over my comment. As I need to lighten up becauseI am the one that had a problem with my own comment? Such logic.
Besides all of this.
Addressed anyone that can help:
I have been looking around on amazon for some good independent movies. Can anyone suggest any worthwhile independent movies relating to anything from politics, provoking thought, theories, history, or even a good story. I am always looking for an intelligent movie. Any movies that you have enjoyed, please share with me for I have come to a wall looking for something worthwhile. No matter what the topic or view of the movie, I am open. Please post back with your suggestions.
