This document was drawn up by the RAND corporation in 2008 at the behest of the US army. It outlines the imperial strategy of the US in regards to the Middle East. It's about 230 pages, but it is summarized in the first 20.

There are some pretty chilling passages.

Yes, "local self-defense militias", LOL. Otherwise known as "death squads".
