"The indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, the killing of women and children and innocent bystanders by chemical weapons is a moral obscenity" - US Secretary of State John Kerry on Syria.

And yet not one reporter pipes up and asks him to therefore explain why its been the policy of successive United States governments to treat the terrible crime of the nagasaki and hiroshima nuclear bombings as a necessary and just end to WW2.
There are still people suffering from those dreadful mass slaughters today.

Whats happening in Syria really does pale in comparison.

This just sickens me. I just felt the need to point it out.

Good point but what can anyone do about it today? I'm sure that the reporters were told not to ask any questions that the Secretary of State couldn't answer.
It is quite disgusting and I agree that things happening in Syria are nothing compared to the ww2 crimes by the US but like I said before I don't think we can do much about what happened back then other than help the people suffering from that today.

White people dropping spangly new weapons of mass destruction for a noble cause is a-ok.
Brown people using icky chemical weapons (some sold to them by western companies) is barbaric.

The hypocisy and double standards when it comes to warfare, past and current, never ceases to impress / depress me :(

This thought wouldn't even occur to 90% of white Americans living under the dominion of the Fourth Reich.

You know what's worse than chemical weapons? Missiles.

Yet I don't see Kerry complaining about the mass atrocities NATO's skyborne infernos will end up causing if they start firing them at Syria.
