I have my mp3 player divided up into different categories and the dance area of it is lacking. Music that is fun to move to. Catchy shit.

This is especially good when a house party wraps up, afterglow music. Love it.

Aphex Twin Not sure if this counts but this is one of the most bizarre videos I've ever seen. It might take some effort to get through the long ass intro. Warning they use the Nword about 1000 times. I wonder what sexual orientation you could classify this as.

That's the thing, it kinda depends on what you like dancing to I guess. I mean, probably my favorite music to dance to is hip hop and dancehall, neither of which are really "dance music" in the classic sense of the term.

I'm too lazy to post links and shit, but some dancey stuff I've been into lately:

New Orleans Bounce: Big Freedia, Katey Red, Sissy Nobby, Magnolia Shorty (older, 90s bounce), Gypsyphonic Disko, 6th Ward Queenie, Nobby, Flyboy Keeno

Baltimore Club: Tim Dolla, Aaron Lacrate, Low Budget, Spank Rock (most of his stuff is at least bmore influenced), Doc Adam, Bosstone

Queer trappy hip hop: HOUSEofLaDOSHA, Mykki Blanco, Le1f, Cakes da Killa, Brooke Candy

This (http://www.factmag.com/2013/08/28/autonomic-jungle-footwork-and-slowfast-how-drum-n-bass-got-its-groove-back/) is a sweet article about a lot of new DnB shit that's been happening in Chicago and name drops a lot of great producers worth checking out. Speaking of Chicago, the Glory Boys and OTF people are pretty on top of their shit right now (you've probably already heard at least Chief Keef) -- not necessarily the danciest stuff, but whatever, can be fun to move to.

One of the best ways to find shit like this is to download mixtapes off datpiff or other sites like that

Also, Generation Bass (http://generationbass.com/) is a goldmine for finding shit that's happening outside of the U.S./Western Europe

oh yeah, forgot to mention Bonde do Role, amazing Brazilian group that does a weird combo of baile funk, pop, punk, and basically everything else you can think of.

OP is quite vague, do you want house, techno, dnb, grime, garage?
My favorite dance record of this year would be Omar S - Thank You For Letting Be Myself.
Best single this year is this: AV1IQbNRBxk
Last year it was this: YqmlXTN3GPQ
A good way to find stuff you like is to find a DJ or label you like and look through it all.
Classic labels: Trax, Metroplex, R&S, Underground Resistance, Strictly Rhythm, Tresor, Nu Groove, Metalheadz, Tempa, DMZ, Hyperdub
Contemporary Labels: L.I.E.S., Clone, Planet Mu, Unknown to the Unknown, Night Slugs, Hessle Audio
