I've been reading some Marxist history of late, and it's made me want to get involved in the struggle somehow. What are the state of the left parties in Britain at the moment? Do I just find a group I like and turn up to a local meeting? I haven't swatted up on any theory or anything so I don't know if I'd be a bit out of place.
Thanks for any answers!

I would recommend that you at least familiarise yourself with the theory of the groups you are interested in, and write to the local branch. I don't know what current of Marxism you feel closest to, but I think comrades here should be able to direct you to the appropriate groups.

I'd recommend first starting with Marx, then reading Lenin, Kropotkin, and others to see where you stand. Know where you stand or you'll be turned into another sect drone

I get occasional e-mails from the Socialist Party of England and Wales about local party meetings (which unfortunately aren't that local and usually late, so I don't get a chance to go). But, they basically just say 'turn up'.
the general state of Marxist parties in the Britain at the moment; about 30 far left parties, 20 or so are Marxist. I did a tally of the most recent election results not long ago and I think in 2001 they (about six parties standing) got around 200,000 votes. But it wasn't much more than 0.1% of the electorate if that. :crying:
