Recently I saw a program on the news highlighting the devastating effects of bullying. It included a definition of the term 'bullying' and I couldn't help but think of how strangely accurate it was in describing American foreign policy. I wonder if it might be a good conversation or debate starter or if it would be worthwhile to start a piggy back campaign on facebook, for example to highlight the similarities. Perhaps it could be called 'Stop bullying [in international relations].' What do you think?
In an ideal world, I would like to see the dissolution of the United Nations and a new international body erected in it's place that is truly democratic, without vetoing rights for countries like the United States and Russia. It is such a shame that the self-proclaimed leader of the free world, America, is so disinterested in a truly democratic international organization.
