NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s latest crime-fighting idea had a lot of people riled up on Friday.
The mayor wants to fingerprint more than 600,000 people who live in public housing. He said it would be done to make the projects safer.

Bloomberg certainly makes my list of most hated politicians. This is not the first time he has displayed his ruthless classism. He has also argued that we do financial checks on anyone staying in a homeless shelter, as if everyone with money is just flocking to homeless shelters to exploit them.
Next thing you know, he is going to want to get DNA samples from every child born into a low income family. The concepts of liberty and equality are completely foreign to this delusional man. If someone asked me "hey, who best represents bourgeois elitism", I know what my answer would be right away.

Pretty much everything this guy does just irks me, from something as frivilous as the soda ban to this pile of bullshit. It's like he's actively working to make me hate him more and more.
The good thing is that his term is almost up, so there's that bit of good news.

Apparently this was an offhanded comment by Bloomberg suggesting that the locks in public housing buildings be activated by tenants fingerprints. There is no plan to implement it. Obviously it is pointless to talk about cutting edge technology like fingerprint identification when you cannot keep the existing locks repaired.
