Check out this video; it details part of the struggle going on in Egypt from the perspective of an Egyptian-American who took part in Occupy Oakland. The Egyptian Police is the same as it was under Mumbarak and serves the same interests.

I'm appalled that anyone would ever think things would change if liberals, or Islamic democrats, came to power. The same class interests are represented. That of the bourgeoisie.

You're exactly right. Morsi was in the business of aiding another set of bourgeois leaders, which pissed off the other bourgeois, along with some legitimate popular anger to the point of another revolution, which was cut off by the military lest more radical choices begin to emerge. The past bourgeois are regaining power over the newcomers.

I am truly surprised by this that they would wave such a huge red flag in front of the working class.

I'm not.
As soon as the Egyptian military staged their coup the release of Mubarak was inevitable, after all Mubarak comes from the very same military establishment that has ruled Egypt since 1952. I also cannot see how the military junta can prosecute Mubarak for the very crimes which they are guilty of, namely corruption and the arrest, torture and killing of their political opponents.
