View Full Version : Incontinuities in the "moderator action" threads

I was wondering of someone could tell me what exactly the criteria is for something that requires posting by a mod in the "moderator actions thread".

It seems sort of unclear and inconsistent sometimes mods post in that thread when they ban someone. Other times, I will see that someone has been banned with no mention of it in the moderator actions thread. For example, I noticed that a guy by the username of "uncle Lenin" was banned recently, but there was no mention of it in the mod thread. There are other examples of inconsistencies like this that I have noticed, though I can't recall them off the top of my head.

What is the reason for these types of incontinuities in terms of the moderating of the board? Moreover, are there even specific guidelines for what moderators do and don't have to post in that thread?

Thanks

The guideline is basically to log as much as possible, and all bans are certainly to be logged. Most bans are, however, done by Admins rather than Mods, who are only permitted to ban in certain cases of obvious nazis and/or troll users.

There is a separate thread for Admin actions in the Logs subforum, where you can see for example that Uncle Lenin was banned by Crux for being a fascist sympathiser. If you have further questions on this topic or on other administrative issues, feel free to PM any Mod or Admin, but such inquiries/discussions are not meant to be posted on the forums.
