"One, One, One, the Syrian People are One!" chanted the Syrian working class in 2011. The Syrian Civil War is now in its third year, it has killed over 100,000 of Syria's working class, Jihadists are exploiting the conflict, and western capitalism vacillates about intervention. The dismantling of Syria's state capitalism, the world capitalist crisis, capitalist competition for markets and raw materials are the causes of war in Syria, but any group replacing the Assad regime will continue to run Syrian capitalism for the benefit of the Syrian capitalist class.
