I think she confuses two different things: "Latent homosexuals" and "closet homosexuals". Closet homosexuals are people who know they are gay, and, for a series of reasons, prefer to hide their sexual orientation. They may or may not dislike the fact that they are homosexual; they may think it is a disease, that it is a sin, they may even hate themselves for being gay. They may or may not indulge in homophobic behaviour; when they do it it is commonly because that helps concealing their sexual orientation, not because they believe homophobic tropes (more than open homosexuals do, anyway). But they know what they are. A latent homosexual is someone who has absolutely no idea of being homosexual - although they fear that. They are people who only have sexual relations with the opposite sex, if at all, and they are very, very often homophobic, because they have unconscious homosexual feelings, that they fear very much, and we tend to hate what we fear.
Latent homosexuality is a disease, not because of the "homosexual" part, but because of the "latent" one. They can't "come out", as a closet gay can. They are stuck in an impossible situation, in which they deny a very important part of their personality, which makes them deeply unhappy, neurotic, and dangerous both toward themselves and toward others - especially those others that are, or may eventually look as, homosexuals.

She makes a good point when she says that when people identify latent/closeted homosexual tendencies as the sole source of homophobia, they are basically saying that gays are entirely to blame for homophobia.

Maybe when people say that latent/closeted homosexual tendencies are the sole (or just one important) source of homophobia they are blaming gays for homophobia. But only if they don't know what latent homosexuality is; latent homosexuals aren't gay at all (and if the pun can be pardoned, they are probably among the saddest people in the world).

Cholera is a disease. Latent homosexuality is not.
I really don't know what you're problem is.

It is kind of like fascists who try to "prove" the Nazi leaders to be Jews. That way they can say that "only a Jew would do such a horrible thing". It is indeed homophobic (or in my example anti-semitic) to say such bullshit.

If you actually read his post, you would have realized he was referring to this "latent homosexuality" as a social disease due to the fact that they cannot be honest about their sexual preferences. As he said before, it's the word "latent" he was referring to, not gay people themselves.

A good point, sure. But against whom? The only people I've encountered who actually hold this kind of opinion are those who engage in or sympathize with the hate crime of "outing".

So then, what is the source of homophobia?
And don't give me BS like the Bible or Quran, what caused the homophobia in those texts?

Probably the source for homophobia is natalism (and it is from there that it gets into the Bible; the Bible is a very natalist text).

I really don't know what you're problem is.
But I know what yours is: a lack in reading comprehension.

What's all this stuff about 'latent homosexuals' and 'latent homosexuality' being a disease? My reading comprehension is admittedly subpar.

What caused abrahamic scripts to detest short people?

I think I understand what Luis Henrique was trying to say, meaning that it's a "disease" that is more of an affliction of our society than the individual.
I don't really agree.
However, I don't really know the proper words to describe what I think about the issue, but I'll try.
I think it's more just a confusion, to be a latent homosexual. Meaning the person is just confused. It is depressing and I know that when I was in the process of discovering my sexuality it was extremely hard, but for me it was just confusing and depressing to not understand myself. I wouldn't label it as a disease necessarily...

I have been staring at this for two days now and I still haven't figured out what the pun is.
edit: Oh, I just got it

To be concise, a latent homosexual is not a person in the process of discovering his or her homosexuality. It's a person in the process of subconsciously repressing his or her homosexuality.
