It's never good when one CP has to denounce another but at least it's principled.

A break with the Russian "Communist" party can only be a good thing.

Old news though.

What did we expect? A large amount of Russians are highly homophobic, but since he is a leftist he should be able to look past someone's sexuality!
Anyway, didn't Putin ban gay-pride parades for a century or something?

It's unbelievable how the Russian Communist Party still didn't move beyond the 1930's.

To be fair towards the 1930'ies CPSU in general and Stalin in particular, the official ideology of modern CPRF had explicitly integrated much more winguttery then the CPSU of 1930'ies. Might be the predictable end result, though.

Wasn't the CPSU and Stalin who approved the criminalization of homosexuality in USSR in 1933? I think it was.

If you don't care why come into this thread? I'm not a fan of either party nor am I saying that I think their politics are in line with what a CP should hold. I'm just sharing an article about this happening because even if we don't like them, it is news relevant to us.

Well I disagree on this point considering the nature of modern Communist Parties, but that's a topic for another thread and isn't relevant to the issue at hand.

I am surprised the French Communist Party still has a principled bone in its body, I was under the impression that they'd sell there grandmother for a couple extra votes.

It actually surprised me too. Have there been any other parties that have broken ties to the Russian CP?

And with this, there ceases to be a Russian Communist Party.
