Anderson's book is by far the best. For other books, I'd reccomend reading Che's diaries: The Motorcycle Diaries, The Bolivian Diaries, and Che's Congo Diaries (called Dreams of a Revolutionary or something like that).

Check out Alberto Granado's "The Making of a Revolutionary" better thans Che's Diaries of their motorcycle trip IMO.

um, there is one ( i forgot what it was called and who it was by :D ) that was something like, Che Guevara - The Man in the Black Barret. Its shorter than most bio's and it was writen i think in the 70's. its short to but very very good. its an easier read than some. but the one that u are reading is also good. by far the best.

Here's another vote for Anderson's.

On a two week trip to India I had the opportunity to read it, and I can't say enough for it... I have already reccommended it to all of my friends, especially those who tend to lean a bit towards the right as I think it's a compelling ayat for socialism as practised by Che with the focus on reforming the individual.

Also although it's long it moves very fast, especially once you get into the part where they land in Cuba to start the revolution.

I am going to have to disagree with most of you. I found, in my opinion, that ''Companero-Life and Death of Che Guevara"-Jorge Castaneda, to be much better then Anderson's.

Is that a shortish hard back one? With Che on the front with different colours in the back ground.

No, well, compaired to Anderson's it may be shortish, it's about 450pp and Anderson's in about 750pp. But it had "ton's" of footnotes that are intersting in themselves.

Its not hard cover... well it might be, but I have paper back.

No...it has che on the front holding an cigar looking indirectly at the camera.

Its an brilliant read , I recommend you get it if possible.

That was a good book too. "Guevara, Also Known as Che" is another good one, while not as good as the first two.

I'd reccomend the Motorcycle Diaries first, then maybe the Bolivian Diaries. Personally, I've never read the African Diaries, so I can't tell you what those are like.

yeah , Guevara Also Known as Che is pretty good. But there's a lot of spelling errors in it. I'm a nerd and I notice those kinds of things :D

I warmly recommend a pretty new book (Released 2003) ... CHE written by Pacho OŽDonnell
Its about 550 pages long and it seems that this guy has done a thorough and I do mean thorough research.. He has interviewed most of the people that still is alive to tell about it. I got the south american edition that comes with an CD as well, where you can hear various speeches and interviews about Che.. I dont know if its translated to english or other languages yet, I got the one in spanish..
its a must read in my humble opinion!!!!

WOW! That sounds incrediable! I will check it out and see if its available in English. I just wish I was fluent enough now in Spanish not to need an English copy, but I'm working towards that goal daily! :) Most my Comrades are bi-lingual which means I have a lot of catching up to do!
