Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
What are your political viewpoints? And how is the left like in Detroit?

entrenching works as well.
1. To provide with a trench, especially for the purpose of fortifying or defending.
2. To fix firmly or securely

Excellent to see comrades from a city that knows more about the banality of capital than perhaps anyone else.

Thanks! I am strongly against the oppression of any person; I've become more vocal, as well as more upset by it, over the years. I would categorize myself as a Socialist & am expanding my knowledge because I'm unhappy with the way government is functioning in this country & am trying to find a rational, logical way to create a place where everyone is given the same options in life.
Alas, there isn't much left wise going on here. I know of the City's ISO & SEP, but there's not a lot of direct action really coming about. I would like to see that change

I love my city, more for how it is flawed; it's gritty & dirty & loving & magical. I grew up here & have lived here for about a total of 30 years. Detroiters are survivors. I just want to change how they think of their survival. & what their peers need, as well as those oppressing them.

It is so extremely disturbing how neighborhoods have houses or lofts at the 500k price point & just a few blocks away are subsidized housing (some are really nice exteriors) & Whole Foods is the local grocer fighting against Eastern Market. Oh, and a multi-million dollar movie filming for a few weeks. The dichotomy here is baffling.

Welcome, comrade. I haven't spent any time in Detroit since the early 80s. It was not doing very well at that time. This forum, and the internet offer the opportunity to investigate the politics of left groups all over the world -- an excellent thing. So you don't have to settle with organizations that you don't feel comfortable in simply because they are the only game in town. Take your time in figuring things out and don't be afraid to ask questions.

& thank you, everyone! I, to an extent, wish I didn't see Detroit as a prime for revolution city as of these past few years; there isn't the base we need for population to rise up IMO. & that is hard to realize.
