Hello, I am a 14 year old male Socialist from Northern Ireland. In my area, political interest is somewhat low. I go to a Catholic school (Unfortunately).
I am not at all religious and my opinion of segregated schools is extremely strong. I am in favor of mixed religion schools.
As for the political situation in my school, people are not that interested in politics but there are a select few that have a moderate or strong interest in it.
I regularly talk about politics to my friends and I try to convert them to the 'left'. I have succeeded to a certain extent. I only really have a few loyal comrades and the rest are moderate leftists and beyond that, people just don't care.
People I know are misinformed about pretty much everything there is to know about politics and economics. Some people even call me an unsociable Socialist, this is because I do not engage in their immature activities. I try to explain that Socialism is an economic theory and has nothing to do with socializing.
I became a Socialist over time. I was an anarchist for a while but since there wasn't very much theory behind it and I was confused about how it could possibly work I decided to look at alternatives. After that I began to study Socialism. I constantly research and study politics and economics as I do not get out much. I have always had sympathy for people who starve to death as a result of having a lack of food.
When I began to realize that the reason for this was Capitalism I began to become increasingly leftist. I try to raise awareness about politics and economics all the time.
