We went carting with my workmates... I think I turned an instant petrolhead.
Ended decently in the upper half of a strong field full with experienced drives, did wreck a cart but that was more the fault of the people who smashed into me after I crashed I think.
So much fun, still high on adrenaline, very motivated to finally get my license and finish the self built project I started ages ago:

I fucking opened that thread in 2010 ffs, I should really finish it....

You realise that driving on roads is slightly less sensational...

Yeah offcourse, though we have yearly "backbrommer" racing championships, I wasn't really planning to make mine run under the legal limit...

Well anyway, getting a licence is most definitely worth it, even if you don't get a car. It's one of those things that comes in handy when no other fucker can do it.
...And cars are expensive. Not just buying them, but also running them.

Yeah, though I'm going to need a small van for my carpentry buisness anyways and as an selfemployed I get a big break on my car taxes...

love that sensation of speed, also in the airplane on the elevation shit, thats the only good part of the travel, the rest is boring, but that boost... i love it!

no idea, my fastest lap was 29.25 seconds which was 2.4 slower than the fastest of the day but i dont know how long the track was, i think the carts have a average speed of 60 km/h or something but thats including the tight corners etc, and because you are so low and they pull up so fast it feels a lot faster anyways..

Damn dude, I never even saw that thread.
Me and my friend both have custom built 50cc French mopeds from the 70s that we are constantly upgrading and working on.
I didn't even mess with mine this summer though, I didn't have any extra cash. But here is a picture of it from two summers ago, before I put café handlebars on it:

Yeah, 2 stroke variated. Mine has a 74cc kit, last summer I was having constant head gasket problems, like, burning up a gasket in 5 days. And I don't even ride that hard, that was just from cruising in town and going to work and shit. If I could get that problem solved my bike would do 55-60 mph, easily. I've gotten it up to 50 before, but that shit is pretty terrifying, cause the wheels are so narrow, and the bike is so old.
My friend (he's the real grease monkey) would probably be stoked on your bike. He has like 5 or 6 project bikes at all times.
