I'm looking for information, books, articles, etc. on the economic development of the Russian Federation - the Yeltsin years specifically. It would be great if the material also has some info on the decline of the USSR.
I'm fine with reading liberal stuff, but a Marxist analysis would be preferable (if one is available).

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

Check out Russia Under Yeltsin and Putin: Neo-Liberal Autocracy by Boris Kagarlitsky. He is supposed to be a Marxist of some kind. Has good insights although I don't agree with a lot of his stuff. I haven't read this particular book but I have his book Empire of the Periphery about Russia and read some of his essays.

Given the misguided attempt of a few MSM liberal activists, you'd think that the Russian economy was 90% Vodka and Winter Sports

hi
I have written an essay about a year ago, called "The Fuel and Energy Sector of the Modern Russian Economy". This sector is a leading sector of the modern Russian economy (check Wikipedia on the Russian economy). The essay can be read at my site:

has some cute pictures and diagrams. Hope to hear from you, give me a feedback,
