A Banksy mural which could fetch up to around a million pounds has been removed from a wall in north London.

The artwork was cut out of the side of a shop in Tottenham yesterday and the company who removed it is to put it up for auction in 2014.

Holy fuck. This is so fucking enraging. I would normally chalk it up to missing the point of street art but I know it's that some fuckers wanted to make money.

Disgusting.

Is it just me, or does removing it miss the point of why it was put there in the first place?

isn't the value of it 0 now? or will the audacity of the removal and sale of it make it more valuable?

I believe the profits in this case will be donated to charity but I understand the rage...

It strikes me very much as robbing Peter to pay Paul.

What struck me about the video was the sheer variety of people that stepped forward to talk about the disappearance of the art work -- not the "usual suspects" you would expect.
