Hundreds of troops belonging to Jabhat Al-Nusra, the Islamic State of Iraq, and such Islamist groups are reportedly mobilising for an assault against the YPG. They've been losing many troops and much territory.

Those who have been following the situation will know that clashes have intensified in the North-East of Syria.

Interesting. Isn't this the same region that sparked protests in Eastern Turkey over Erdogan supporting folks like this?

Hmm, 'Al-Sham' means the levant region. Couldn't it also be called 'Islamic state of Iraq and Syria'?

There have been reports that the peshmerga have moved into Syria. I can't find any confirmation though.

Yes, these are the same organisation. They changed their name in 2013.
