They left some good critique and a way of thinking about a radical cultural practice.

I like some of Debord's, Jorn's and Vaneigem's works. But I don't find their ideas (though I like them) that remarkable, and what I have heard and read about the organization itself isn't that positive.
Check out this critique by Gilles Dauve: http://libcom.org/library/critique-situationist-international-gilles-dauve
Also if you want to, check out this Situationist film, a détournement of a Chinese kung fu flick. It is quite interesting, Hegelian Marxist kung fu. It shows some aspects of their thought and especially what they think about party organizations.

Numerous threads on them. Interesting theories. But they screwed up May 68. Like most.

Tried to break away from the mainstream and they succeeded for a short while. I admire this desire to do something new. I've come to this conclusion from their political critique and methods of dealing with Capitalist forms of control (détournement and the creation of situations).
