Hello all. Been lurking off and on for a long time, when I have time. Anyway, time to stop being a wallflower and join the party.
- Where are you from, what's the leftist scene there like?
Ohio. The only dyed in the wool leftists I've met were students at a fairly left leaning college I attended. In short, I was not impressed. Not that they weren't nice, and I did make some friends. But, for the most part, they were a bunch of whiny rich kids who have never and will never work a day in their lives. I was one of the few public school grads in the lot, they mostly went to private schools and spent their summers in Europe.
Many were far more concerned with politicizing personal disputes than actually doing something to help families like mine. I spent my time hanging out with friends from town, getting high and drunk.
- What are your political ideas, if any?
Hard to describe. I believe in being armed, but don't believe you should shoot random black kids. I've had to look up A LOT of terminology to understand what people are saying on here. Political quizzes on the internet are useless. They say I'm everything from a Democratic Socialist to an anarcho-syndicalist. I guess my take is that no one idea is perfect for all people at all times. I don't believe in dogma. No idea is so flawless that it cannot be questioned.
