Hi,

I tried looking around here but I didn't find what I was looking for in my searches. If a question like this has already been asked, then I apologize.

What are the best published editions (in English) of Marx's writings? I had an old copy of Capital Vol 1 and a friend had been insisting for a while I get the Penguin edition instead. I recently did, and can see why. It's far superior to the one I had before. The translation and everything else is just better.

So, in regards to Marx's other writings, what are the best versions to get? I prefer reading actual books so online resources wouldn't be as helpful for me.

I like the old Soviet ones, but I have not looked at too many others.

Well the second edition of the Marx-Engels Reader is probably the best collection of his work youll find in a single volume as far as english resources go.

I'm partial to the early Daniel DeLeon translations, but those not comfortable with 19th century written English may not care for them.

Thanks y'all. This same friend of mine says Penguin is pretty much always the way to go as far as Marx's other works too. I'll have to find and compare all these versions you suggested.
