First ever Golden Dawn festival is cancelled
Friday, July 19, 2013
The nazis of Golden Dawn had advertised and secured a license to hold their first ever nationwide festival in the city of Kalamata, on the 3d and 4th of August, 2013. The date is far from coincidental, as it marks the anniversary of August 4, 1936 – the date when dictator Metaxas arose to power in Greece.
An anti-fascist, anti-nazi demonstration has been called in Kalamata for tomorrow, July 20. Succumbing to the pressure, the local authorities announced today that they are banning all public events in the park where the festival was to take place, effectively revoking the license of the festival itself.
