View Full Version : My Third Thread But Still An Intro

I completely forgot to post an intro thread and I have posted two others but oh well. Some things about me!
I have grown up in and currently live in the United States. I first got into politics over two years ago. Before then, I never cared, I was more interested in hitting the bong and dealing with typical high school matters, which of course was fun. But then I met someone who had just come here from Russia and we got to be good friends, and then we started becoming more aware of the world and what was really going on. I finally realized that the government was an inherently corrupt institution along with religious institutions, so I adopted an anarchist philosophy. I never considered "left" and "right" as I had no knowledge of the political spectrum. Then I had a bit of an existential realization that also came to make me find the Marxist model to be a near-perfect algorithm to solve society's issues. It really came down to be discovering that class struggle was actually the root cause of conflict in the world. It all came back down to class struggle. As for my Russian friend, he is back in Russia and has adopted more right wing political views (aside from still being very socially liberal). But hey, you live and you learn.
Okay, sorry for the long paragraph. Tl;dr, right? xD
Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
Did you already "adopt" a specific current of communist ideas, or are you a "Marxist" of the more general type? Also, what's the left like at your place, if there is any?

Welcome comrade. Perhaps you are a left communist?

Thank you for the warm welcomes! :)
I don't identify with any particular "branch." I basically just see Marxism as an algorithm that should be applied in different ways in different parts of the world depending on the situation and who is being oppressed.

Oh also, can anyone tell me when I will be able to post without each post being reviewed by mods first? I completely understand that, but it is getting a bit annoying xD

Moderators stop having to approve your posts when you've made 10 posts, so you're nearly there :)
Welcome to Revleft by the way. Hope you like it here :)

What do you mean why? Why did I beat you to the ten post thing, or why do I hope people like it here? (It's a great board, honest)

You get rep when people thank your posts. So post a lot of witty one-liners and you'll get loads of rep ;)1
(Actually don't. Just post in a meaningful and helpful way and be nice. That's what I try to do and I have a fair amount of rep.)

Well, the place needs some (a lot) of getting used to.
Once you're used to sectarian squabbles, shit-slinging for debate and witty one liners this place is great.

Haha, witty banter between the regulars. I'm liking it already. I used to post on forums back in the day but then I stopped for a bit. Never political ones though. More like off topic ones or ones associated with online games. xD But you know, forum communities and such.

Apparently I'm cynical. Judas is correct, though.
