Obviously, the ultimate end goal of socialism is for all of humanity to be equal with no one person being better or worse then anybody else.
This of course requires a radical reform of how the economy and society works, and if a successful socialist state were to be created then people could be shaped into new kinds of human beings that work only for the greater collective good.
However, as I keep thinking about how socialism can be accomplished through the re-shaping of man, there is one problem I keep hitting into: What will we do with people who can't be fixed through thought reforms?
The reason for why most people aren't behaving in a manner that is socialist is because capitalism has corrupted them, but that can be fixed by reforming them and their minds until everyone is working as hard as they can and nobody is is really better or worse then anybody else.
However, the fact remains that some people are simply worth less from a pure and a cold/logical economic point of view for reasons that cannot be fixed with a thought reform. The disabled are a great example.
I am talking about people who are disabled either literally or mentally. It doesn't matter how much socialism you put into the head of a person who can't move, they are still going to be unable to work properly with their fellow comrades like everybody else. And when it comes to the mentally disabled, they can't be tought socialism simply because they would not be able to understand what socialism even is.
So, if the ultimate goal of socialism is true equality then the disabled create a contradiction that is troublesome for socialism. It doesn't matter what we would do, the disabled would never be equal to others in any real way. Simply giving them equal rights would not be enough, because simply having equal rights and actually being equal isn't really the same. The workers in general can be made equal through a combination of socialist docrine and the reshaping of man, but a disabled person will always remain disabled.
Because of this, I feel that the disabled should be gotten rid of for the greater good of socialism. If the destruction of capitalism through violent means is a necessary evil that must be done for the greater good, then it is only logical that the destruction of all groups that prevent true socialism from existing is a necessary evil also.
Thoughts?
