Sorry if this is a question that has been asked before, but does anyone here have any experience with this magazine? It looks like they, for the most part, give the broad, strategic background of a war/battle, and then drop down to the tactical level with something like a eurogame.

The blurb on their site interested me a lot: "Against the Odds magazine investigates military history from a broad perspective. The economic, political, religious and social aspects of warfare are examined in concert with events on the battlefield." Even if it isn't from a Marxist perspective, it sounds like it would be an interesting way for me to expand my knowledge of both history in general, and military history in specific. If it's just crap history with a thrown in game, though, I wouldn't really be that interested in it.

I just started getting into eurogames, but haven't been able to do much with that interest, because they tend to be so expensive (for me, at least), and I can't really justify buying them without knowing anyone else around me who plays them.

Again, sorry if this is in the wrong section, or if it's already been asked.
