So i've recently been in a discussion with someone claiming to be a folk-anarchist.
Now i've never heard of it and on his blog he explains the basics of it and of the "inventor" Gustav (or Gustaaf) Landauer. He is suposed to be a (aparently) well known anarchist from germany during the Novemberrevolution.
During our discussion on the topic of Nationalism, he kept saying that a healthy portion of Nationalism is needed and that anarchists who think otherwise are reformists and reactionairies.
Of course i said that nationalism has no place in anarchism and communism.
All and all i think i came across a national-anarchist.
Does any of you know Landauer and what do you anarchists here think of Nationalism in Anarchism?
Oh, and a link to his blog (http://volksanarchistischkollektief.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/gustav-landauer-his-folkanarchism/).

If my hunch is right this is the same guy (yes, its one guy who used to be active in various dutch fascist groups) who is behind the (sometimes defunct, sometimes updated) 'Vrije Nationalisten Noord-Brabant', 'Nationaal-Syndicalistisch Platform', 'Platform "De Derde Weg"', 'Netwerk Nationale Socialisten' and a whole bunch of infantile weblogs with incoherent boring ramblings desperately trying to stitch together elements of the 'left' and various permutations of fascism. Usually its borrowing the worst elements of stalinism and old and contemporary nazbol writings, sometimes its being inable to have a basic grasp of either marxism or anarchism and stamping his feet trying to make 'nationalism popular with the lefties' (why anyone would be interested in that, either in nationalism or in the left, is beyond me though).
ie.:
At a certain time each culture irrevocably lost its lifeforce, through which it froze and fell. Because of this the peoples who were once its bearers fell into a state of “serenity” and forgot that what they had wanted, known and done, untill finally the day came that they were regenerated by a new idea.
means = boohoo I take an idealized representation of a historical instance of class society I prefer over the current instance because I like the look of knickerbockers and curly mustaches.
When this new idea appeared between them as a real unchanging truth, then the individuals were bound again through worship and love. Through this, human life became lifted to higher forms of organisation and a new culture flourished. In these times the urge to connect with the people got the upperhand and the power over the individual. With this a form of social life came to being that was described by Landauer as “the community of communities”; the organic connection of little, self-governing and, on their own strength acting units, that in turn connected themselves with larger units. This age of great culture was marked by the new idea feeding the “stream of life”, only then the relationships were healthy and life had dignity.
What does any of this bollocks even mean? When has this historically ever happened? The whole blablabla about cyclical eras of 'rise and demise' of cultures is just quoting Oswald Spengler's sentimentalist nonsense without mentioning the man to avoid triggering associations with his politics.
The stuff about progress is partially true enough, under the banner of the development of the productive forces enough misery and the development and subsumption of capitalism have been ushered in (often enough under the red flag). The thing is, yearning for earlier phases of capitalism (or previous modes of class society, such as feudalism or caste societies) isn't only the very definition of reactionary, it's also an exercise in shedding futile tears. A critique of 'progress' ought to be integral to any genuine communist position, but if it is accompanied by a 'yearning for yesterday' you better reach way back to the primitive communism of hunter-gatherers. Ironically, it was the very project of the rise of the bourgeoisie and the development of early capitalism which even made such a thing as 'nationalism' conceivable.
All other shit aside, its simply a misrepresentation of Landauer by inserting 'love of fellow countrymen and human beings' into the text X times and then pointing the finger and saying 'look at what a nationalist the man was'.
TL;DR: Don't bother it's one barely literate moron and his blog

Definitely sounds like a national anarchist.
Never heard the term "folk anarchism" before, though.

That makes so much sense! I'm kicking him of my blog. He responded several times yesterday and acused me of being a capitalist and a etno-centric for not supporting vague shit like "borders", "nations" and "regions".
Fuck him, he's gone. Thanks guys!
