I suspect that this subject has been trodden quite a few times here, but I suspect that deep down, we all love a good singalong tune. I doubt the thread concept really needs much explaination anyway, and especially here. I've been interested in union songs (and similar kinds of music like hymns and so on, which are easy to remember and meant to be sung en masse) for a very long time - in fact, ever since my mum sang me protest songs and spiritual songs probably since before I was in primary school. I don't think the religion really rubbed off on me, but the struggle for workers' rights certainly did.
Anyway, here are a few rousing tunes (can you guess where I got my user name now?)
Pete Seeger's version of Solidarity Forever (which I love - sung to a tune that's very culturally ingrained in the english-speaking world that was originally a battle song!)
