Someone made a mistake a few years ago, which throws the integrity of all the kings and queens since, into question.

Micheal should be king apprently, Micheal the First, that is.

More info here -->Real King (http://www.channel4.com/history/microsites/H/history/heads/footnotes/monarch.html)

He isn't the real king at all - traditionally, the King is who wins the crown. In the past this would have been through war.
Years latter, when the King wanted it to pass to his son, he would say he should be king as the same blood flows through them. This would happen - unless of course, someone else took it, then claimed their blood should be carried on.

If you want to be pedantic, i'm sure you could trace back Harold Godwinsons line, or maybe Alfered's line.

The crown belongs to he or she who wins it.

James: did you read the article? it came across to me that there was a genuine mistake made and the crown was given to the wrong person.

I think the royal line is perfectly fine the way it is now.

really? The royal family is a load of shite!

I think he should hire a private army and march on the palace and demand the crown. That would be a spectacle.

haha

a republican is one of the two major political parties in the great US of A, the lesser being the democrats. Republicans are right wing and conservative. The democrats are left wing and liberal. Just like the conservatives have the majorty in parliment, republicans have the majority in congress.

Not true, im a republican and im in the UK

An American republican and a British republican are two differrnt things.

The american republican really does use the word properly.

Im a republican because i think the UK shouldnt have a monarchy- therefore it would be a republic, like any country not governed by a monarchy.

I.e. France, Ireland, U$A, Germany etc.

To put it this way an Irish Republican wants to see Ireland free from British rule i.e. no Queen, King so a British Republican wants to see no Queen, King in England, I thought that was self-evident.
