I normally don't post introduction threads but I am curious to see how many like minded thinkers are around the forum. I have been doing some trolling before signing up but I am curious how the vanguardists and the anarchists are getting along. Where I live in the southern U.S, the left is extremely small but well united with the exception of radical vanguardists i.e, Stalinists. I believe this is due to the overwhelming amount of conservatism or pseudo classical liberalism as I generally call it.

I describe myself as a libertarian socialist or libertarian leftist, I do not agree with all principles of anarchism but I am an anti-authoritarian before anything. I study History at the University of North Florida and one of favorite hobbies is the study of Marxist theory and classical anarchist literature.

See you guys around! :D

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

This forum is not necessarily a place for convergence, we just debate :) And on that note: Could you explain a bit more about your own ideas?

I believe that a successful revolution (non violent), can only be carried out by a class conscious majority of working people, therefore the #1 goal of any socialist ought to be education. I generally frown upon factionalism and believe in the efficiency of Multi-tendency organizations. I oppose state socialism but still consider it to be theoretically more desirable than modern capitalism. I oppose state socialism due to the lack of worker's control and the establishment of control by a new exploitative bureaucratic ruling class whom usually adhere to a pseudo-Marxist theory, historically speaking anyway. All though I consider myself an anarchist, I have many Marxist tendencies. I am somewhat of a dialectical thinker and I tend to see history through the lens of class struggle.

As a leftist, these are primary concerns and values

Control by the actual workers, not representatives
Personal Liberty - Freedom of speech, etc
non violence - Force does not decide who is correct, simply who is strongest
Abolition of hierarchy
