Stories like this just warm my heart :)
You know, other than the fact that he got suspended.
A Canberra high school student who threw a salami sandwich at the prime minister has faced in-house action, says the education department.
The schoolboy embroiled in the latest sandwich-throwing incident involving Prime Minister Julia Gillard has been dealt with in-house at his Canberra high school.
The prime minister was visiting Lyneham High School on Thursday when a salami sanger was lobbed her way.
While Ms Gillard was quick to dismiss the incident, it quickly attracted national attention.
Australian Federal Police categorised the matter as "minor".
ACT school authorities on Friday issued a brief update, with a spokeswoman saying: "Appropriate action has been taken at a school level in accordance with normal processes."
Thursday's incident was not the first time Ms Gillard has attracted an airborne sandwich.
Brisbane student Kyle Thomson, 16, was suspended from school for 15 days after a sandwich was pegged at the prime minister during her visit to Marsden State High School earlier in May.
