So how many of you just despise everything about nobility and royalty? I always felt it had something of an odd position in the modern discussion of proletariat and bourgeoisie since I had a few people confused as to whether nobility is a 'capitalist' class (Yes? Duh?)
And what are your stances on it? You can probably guess how this guy feels. I can't even stand fucking Disney princesses.
What role would royalty and nobility have in a proletarian world?

They have none. They don't exist, nor does the proletariat.

Being a Monarch doesn't make you a Capitalist, though the idea of monarchy is used to encourage loyalty to the Capitalist state.

Post-Revolution I'd imagine that they wouldn't enjoy their previous privileges but would be allowed to live as ordinary citizens.

Royalty in the modern era is kind of an enigma to me, honestly. Even if their position is purely symbolic or whatever. I just don't really understand how the institution has continued to survive in the era of the nation-state/republic.

The monarchy, and other remnants of feudalism (including institutional churches), are useful to the bourgeoisie in the ideological struggle against communism. And the left wing of the bourgeoisie, who has kept something of the old ideology of the French Revolution, is quite impotent when it comes to changing the structure of society.
