The current president of Mexico

I've been wondering, what's the political situation in Mexico like recently? The PRI is back in power last I remember. Has the current president done anything significantly different than his predecessor?

I guess a couple things have gotten a lot of attention. His attempt to reform education has been one big focus, including arresting the head of the teacher's union. This has led to quite a few strikes. There has been some reshuffling on the drug war. Talk on leasing PeMex rights are still languishing, but he will likely have an easier go at it than Calderon.

The most interesting was how the new president was elected. Even the website of the office that counted votes has showed for some time that other canidate has won the elections. But the website was 'updated'. And the office was refusing continously a transparency in counting of votes...
