I have been reading up on history of the USSR from the revolution onwards.
I know a guy from Tatarstan and he has been really helpful in giving some of the prevailing sentiments within the country during his time.
On some tangential research, I ran across the name Mirsaid Sultan-Galiev and the Wäisi movement. I have read the Wikipedia articles and I know they were purged by Stalin but I would like to read further into the topic, if anyone knows of anything substantive on it (marxists.org was not helpful).
If it helps, I can speak English and Spanish.
