I used to read the LF forum at SomethingAwful. Was away for a while, and when I came back it was gone. Eventually looked around and found RevLeft while I was trying to figure out what had happened to LF.
Welcome :)
If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!
If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.
What is LF? :p Also, could you explain a little about your political ideas?

Thanks! LF stood for "Laissez-Faire," which was ironic. On SomethingAwful (the forum site) it was a subforum that had a lot of leftist/Marxist content. Eventually the Something Awful mods got rid of the forum.
Politically, I'm a socialist, and interested in the economic/political arrangements necessary to balance power in society. I don't see that as a destination, rather, as an ongoing struggle, a cycle if you will.

So, let's get this straight - on a 'laissez-faire' forum, instead of adopting a policy of 'laissez-faire', they were instead interventionist (statist/authoritarian, even)?
Classic. Liberals suck.
Welcome to the forum.

SomethingAwful has always been a humour site, so I'm guessing it was named that with the intention of being ironic. Welcome!

Allegedly the site owner got investigated by the secret service for activities that emanated from LF, hence the elimination of the subforum.
What is more interesting to me is how there appear to be some serious liberal trolls on the site who parrot DNC talking points, despite the fact that leftist ideas have gotten a lot of attention and to some degree, support.
It really makes me wonder if they are in fact, paid shills. The accounts are pretty old commenters; I wonder if someone has purchased accounts, the way that I know it has gone down with reddit.

It was a place where they stuck threads about ron paul to get them off the main boards. This led to people going there to troll the libertarians until there were no libertarians left. It got shut down when the owner of the site got a subpena from the secret service after someone joked about assassinating Obama.
