If any of you have ever had a psychidelic experience, did any ever have a political character?

No particularly political psychedelic experiences for me. Most of my interesting or beneficial ones are more just to do with the way I see myself and my life. I do think things over politics-wise, but I usually just feel as though I've reinforced and reaffirmed my views, if that make sense. I have a lot of thoughts when tripping, most of which probably make very little sense. I've talked about politics while under the influence of psychedelics but I'm never very coherent (as you would probably expect when you have a 5 second memory).
Any reason why you posted about this in particular?

Because many speak of religious experiences so I figured psychidelics could invoke strong ideological feelings.

You mean like political epiphanies? That never happened to me.

No, but for example, hallucinations with a political character, things along those lines, not an enlightenment esque or spiritual experience.

To be honest though, my trips were rarely that visual.

No, my trips were never like that. But then, I was more or less "apolitical" at the time.

Dude, don't try and talk to your friend about communism when you eat shrooms. Just have a good time.

No, my most intense experiences were mostly before I was really political. When I was in college I just worked part time and did my homework while on the job so I had lots of downtime for reckless experamentation. Now I'd have to get out a fucking calander to figure out when I had room for 8+ hours and a day of resting. Working full time - it's cut back on my bindge drinking and a lot of other things that take more than a nap to recover from. Thank the gods that weed is de-facto legal here:thumbup1:.
Anyway, in retrospect however, I once had a bad-trip that included a sublime experience (sublime as in horrifying and amazing and sort of indescribeable i.e. religious experience but for non-religious folks) that was very dialectical. After 6 hours of the best of drug-times, most of the rest of the night was deep sweating-in-bed-listening-to-Abby-Road-on-repeat-but-skipping-over-the-song-"I Want You (She's So Heavy)-because-the-world-might-end-if-the-song-plays paranoia and misery... so I wouldn't want to try and have that experience again, but it was impressive. Anyway, in some of the more intesne waves I started to loose a sense of myself and I was trying to fight it and the "bad feelings" by concentrating on good things and pleasant thoughts, listing things I like in my head. These thoughts sort of manifested as these balls of light and there was a dark and light side to each and they were in constant battle - everything had two sides, everything was a conflict with one side eventually surpassing the other and becoming something different. It was just a hallucination, but in retrospect it was a very dialectical one in a semi-spiritual ying-yang sense.
The most sublime part, which wasn't political really but probably reflects my non-spiritual outlook on things was when I fully lost a sense of myself. After hours of terribleness the bad tip "broke" and I wasn't really there, everything was just atoms and the space between them and everything was peacful. I'm not really sure if I actually fell alseep finally or if I just calmed down and zoned out and had a hallucination, but when I sort of came out of this state I was calm and peaceful and the sun was rising and it's rays looked like oil floating on water through the cracks in my blinds.
The End.
Yeah I would not recommend that people do psychs looking for some kind of insight or profound epiphanies, political, personal, or otherwise. It's an unpredicatable thing, it's best to be open to how you are feeling at the time and not try and project some desire or expectation onto the experience. I would recommend listening to Wu-Tang and most of Abby Road while tripping though.

I've never tripped and had a political thought before, my mind was in other places. It does tend to happen when I smoke weed or drink alcohol. Then my mind goes off in a million directions and I start having epiphanies.

many experiences but never anything political. in fact, they are more likely to make the whole exercise of politics seem futile.
i'd class my psychedelic experiences as generally 'spiritual'. i wouldn't take psychedelics if they gave me 'political' experiences. getting queasy thinking about it lol

THE WIRES, RANDY! EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED IN A NETWORK THAT IS PHYSICAL! ROADS! RAILS! WIRES! A NETWORK OF DOMINATION THAT HAS AN OBVIOUS MATERIAL REALITY THAT WE DON'T UNDERSTAND AS SUCH BECAUSE OF OUR IDEOLOGICAL TRAINING, BUT IS, ON THE SURFACE OF IT, THE MOST OBVIOUS THING IN THE WORLD! AND THE TOWERS WITH BANK LOGOS! OUR RULERS LOUDLY PROCLAIM THEMSELVES FROM THEIR CASTLES AND NOBODY SEES IT! BUT IF YOU LITERALLY JUST OPEN YOUR EYES TO WHAT IS IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF YOU, IT'S ALL THERE! DO YOU SEE IT, RANDY!
She did see it, fucking hippie.

Psychedelics just make me happy and silly and really creative, no religious or political character to the experiences.

So I took about two grams of Penis Envy in a state park and it was indeed ideological. I started mumbling all sorts of dribble, from ancient roman philosophy to a bunch of seemingly pointless existential questions. The clouds were all shaped like wierd shit, at one point the icon of Marxism Leninism (the heads of Marx, Engels, Lenin), tito was up there somewhere too, as was Hoxha and Castro. Wtf? The whole thing was great fun though, being in the woods.

what is "penis envy" in this context, at the risk of sounding woefully ignorant?

It's a man made psychedelic mushroom that when wet looks like a penis. I had them dry though.
