Futility Personified

I just bought Escobar for £3 yesterday and started reading it. Pretty inventive fellow, the book is based on interviews by his brother so he clarifies some of the actions that the Medellin cartel were involved in and who did what, stating what was wrongly attributed to him and such. I haven't finished it yet, but is there any other stuff on him likely to be balanced? Wikipedia says Oliver Stone hasn't finished his film yet, but i'd like to watch something about his life.
His involvement with guerillas is interesting too. They had a mutual relationship in the coke trade, but it seems they recognised him as a class enemy at the very least targetting some of the narcos in kidnappings for ransom. Clearly he was not sympathetic to leftist causes but he did spend a lot of his money on improvements in working class conditions. I haven't read up to his shenannigans with M-19 yet, but there's no doubt he was an interesting conflicting individual.
Does anyone else know of any good resources to learn about him from? And how beneficial was he to anti-imperialist activities?
