I heard about this forum on a google search. What I am for is the truth and human rights including economic rights. Some might know me from years ago on different forums and some may not. It matters not to me as I will continue as always.
Truth and logic mean a lot to me and I'm always willing to accept the ideas that are based on truth and logic of others and incorporate them into my own. I hope others are as opened minded about that as I am.
I mainly try to discuss foreign events to find the truth about them. Since it is easier to find out what is happening in other parts of the world through various media outlets and piece them together then it is to find out what is happening in my own country.
Some might hate my opinions and some might agree with them. I accept that.
Welcome :)

I think your views on truth and logic are essential for any scientific endeavour. Marxism, however often misused on the left, is a science: The science of social development and change. What are your views on that?

Marxist theory based on the organization of society is a a part of sociology and science. But there are parts of "Marxism" which where developed to suit political ends. Thus most of those that self identify with being marxist are not scientific since marxism is based on policy that hopefully will become a workers utopia.
Science, on the other hand, is about observation and empiracal evidence which is peer reviewed to confirm the results. With all scientific knowledge also open to being falsifiable when new information comes to light. Which leads to the problem of revolutionary marxism as a scientific theory is it can not be falsifiable due to it being based on events happening in human society in the future. Something that people can only speculate about.
So, I guess we might agree on this. But then again one must also include other intellectuals to complete what Marx started. Since he only took into account the power of capital as the source of control and status. Disregarding many other forms of authority and social structure.
Anyways, im new here so I might have just rambled on about something that might not be the answer you where looking for or the answer this board would accept.

Marx said that every class struggle is a political struggle.
What rights can economics confer?
Why contrast politics unfavourably against economics? Which discipline is more or less scientific?
Your science sounds a bit like Karl Popper, have you studied him?
Welcome nonetheless.
