I've been on this forum on and off for the past 7 or 8 years. But this time I intend to remember my username.

I do have a few questions as I think stuff has changed, right?

Why do mods have to approve topics and posts? Doesn't really seem to be in the spirit of this forum.

It also looks like there's much less activity than before.

the first posts have to be approved by a mod to discourage or stop bots and trolls

Welcome (back) :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

Could you introduce yourself a bit? What political ideas do you have?

Well, I identify as an anarcho-communist. I believe that every human is born free and no human being should be born into a State/system/society. If they are, they should be free to leave. The communist part comes in because I believe it is logical (and natural?) for humans to work together towards a mutual goal.

When I was younger, I used to be a communist. I used to think that there should be a State which would provide everything for everybody. But then I realized that we are all different and that we should have the ability (the freedom) to associate and disassociate with and from whomever we like.

I am also against private ownership and "ownership" of any kind in the classical sense. The only ownership should be through use, one cannot own a house in which he does not live, or a land which he does not cultivate.

Also, I don't think there should be things such as "intellectual property" or "copyright". I am for the free/unobstructed sharing and distribution of ideas, information and culture (books, movies, music, etc.).

That's a quick/basic summary of my political beliefs. :P

I can see how would move away from "communism" if that is what it meant. We don't want a huge "nanny state" though, quite the contrary.

Yeah, by "communist" I meant a big nanny state. :P

Nobody on this site uses the word "communist" like that, just to get that impasse out of the way.

Welcome :)

Pretty sure Communism doesn't necessitate a state. Pretty sure Communism doesn't restrict freedom of association either. Welcome.
