I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...I'm serious, it's 5 am.

Ok,

America during the 50s or 60s...Would it have been justified for another country to invade america, and try to "liberate" it?

Americans were not free, and faced oppression (minorities)
and
America was a rogue nation (consider the Vietnam war, gulf of tonkin resolution) with WMDs

Would people support it, as they support the war in Iraq?

It's unjustified because the "liberating" nation would not invade for the sake of helping the opressed people, they would have a hidden agenda and some kind of way they are going to make money off the plan.
