Greetings comrades,
I live in a very conservative state in America (go on, just guess which one) but I've identified as an anarcho-syndicalist/libertarian socialist for a little bit now and I wanted to be in good company. I used to be a liberal until I began reading stuff by Karl Marx, Mikhail Bakunin, Gerald Gohen, and Emma Goldman. Learned about how private ownership exploits labor and competitiveness in the market leads to bad shit like commodity fetishism, overuse of resources, unjust power relations, and planned obsolescence. At this point I'm pretty sure I favor a non-market economy in which the means of production are owned by decentralized, cooperative unions that democratically determine how products get used and distributed.
Again, hope I'm in good company here. :)
