For smooth jazz I'd check out Earl Klugh, Bob James and Grover Washington, Jr. especially their late 70s/early 80s stuff.

Free jazz; check the album "Shape of Jazz to Come" by Ornette Coleman.

Former poster 'Wunderbar" showed me these guys.

hes probably the Krautrock master but the Monks are one of the 'firsts' in 'Krautrock,' funny that they were all discharged american GIs stationed in Germany. you could also call it a part of the Garage Rock scene of the 60s and also proto-punk just before groups like MC5 came around.

Then you have some of the more developed, if you could even say that, sound of krautrock with Amon Duul

Then comes along Neu! Which has the basic and pretty much complete krautrock sound i guess.

And one of my favorites, Mugstar, some Scotsmen if i recall correctly.

For Bollywood check out anything composed by R. D. Burman or sung by Asha Bhosle.
