I have read some of the readings of Che, and perhaps I don't understand the tactics of guerilla warfare, but that seems similar to the tactics of terrorism.
However, I believe the greatest weapons of palastinians are public opinion. Propoganda (aka the media) favors them greatly. Take Jenin. Origionally it was said that thousands were slaughetered, and the entire town was leveled. When investigations showed that 50 were dead, and one block was destroyed, this was barely publicized. Now, I'm not condoning hte death of 50 innocent, but I think some pity the Palastininas a bit too much...
Okay, back to the origional topic, before I start ranting. Their tactics exploit public opionion. A known terrorist leader of hamas was attacked with a helicopter, and was killed along with his wife. European contries condemned this as a use of excessive force. I do not agree.
Where this brings us to: Palastininans have the perfect gurilla situation. They can attack Israeli troops as much as they want, not fearing death, becuase their religion promises them salvation if they die for the cause. An Israeli counterattack is impossible. Even when intellegence gives them a target for a source of terror, the _lose_ in the public opion game, becuase they use "excessive force" - a missle or tank to kill a terrist.
what the palastininas are doing is stupid and wrong. They will never destroy the Israeli army. And the Israelis will never give into their demands, until fighting stops, the palastininas use their own authority to control terror, and they propose a reasonable compromise (aka not jerusalem).
