One bill, which sailed through the House Financial Services Comittee third month--over the objections of the Treasury Department--was essentially Citigroup's, according to e-mails reviewed by the New York Times. The bill would exempt broad swathes of trades from new regulation.

OMG! Who would have guessed that allowing corporations control over our government might lead to corruption? Who would have guessed?

Guys, doesn't this new bourgeois victory make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Here's to America: where you're free to be oppressed by the private sector instead of the government! Corporatocracy rules!

This has been happening for a while now- despite what they tell you in high school government class, the lobbyists do more than encourage the congressmen and senators and all that to act in their interests. That actually have a hand in every bill that is written.

When I first learned this I was surprised too, cause I felt that I should be able to trust what I learned in school.

Isn't just obvious that capitalism is governed by capital?
