The French interior minister said he is considering banning the notorious gay-bashing group, the French Spring (http://www.france24.com/en/20130524-france-considers-ban-radical-anti-gay-marriage-group), that emerged in the protests against gay marriage this year and whose activities have precipitated a surge in homophobic violence, terrorist acts (http://brodypost.tumblr.com/post/48940611841/behind-the-radical-right-wing-french-spring-movement), vandalism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC0WbGSgw9E&feature=youtu.be) and death threats against lawmakers. This was met with predictable protests by scumbag Batrice Bourges (now banned from Frigide Barjot's militant Catholic group Manif pour Tous) over a 'denial of democracy'.

Here was what the minister had to say.
"This is a call to violence, Valls told France Info, adding that there had even been a number of death threats, which he does not take lightly.

"Justice will have to act because it is intolerable that in the Republic there can be these messages of hate, he continued. There is no place for groups that challenge the Republic, democracy and which also attack individuals.Crack on, then.

As a Frenchman, I can say this is rather good news, but I'm not sure how much it will do : The French Spring, from what I understand, is in large part a "grouping" of right wings smaller groups that rallied against a common issue. The small groups won't be attacked individually so the action is not as "radical" as it may seem.

Besides that the fash should be, and only can be, defeated by the united people, not the bourgeoisie state

Besides that the fash should be, and only can be, defeated by the united people, not the bourgeoisie stateI actually agree. Really disappointed with France's anti-fascist movement as I might have mentioned before. I realise this is never easy (or safe) work and these particular fascists have numbers on their side, but that's all the more reason they should have been confronted sooner before this ugly mass revolt could take shape. The telltale signs were there.

its not that english anti-fascists have a much better handle on the EDL, and they are a lot less rural nor are hiding withing huge UKIP demonstrations, if you don't mind me saying...

Of course. I'm far from the big cities and I don't really know much about the anti fascists action there, so I can't really pronounce myself on the subject.
