Why is the label being used in spite of statements by the SI that it was meaningless?

To put it in their terminology, it's kinda like them being an attempt at detournement, but then being changed externally to recuperation.

So I guess technically there is no such thing as "situationism", but it certainly doesn't mean the term can't be imposed on the SI externally, as a way to box and simplify both meaning and reference. It's almost like a pejorative, trying to impose it as ideology when this is one of the things it is supposed to be diametrically opposed against.

In the end, anything can be made into an "-ism"...
