View Full Version : Pirate radio
I'm soaking some up right now. 100% pure old-timey bluegrass with no disruptions.
Anyone else here fond of pirate radio? Anyone else here even use a radio in 2013? I know I can't be the only one! :D
Might be a good idea to be mindful of what you say to avoid making an FCC tip line out of this thread.

There's pretty much no need for Pirate Radio these days considering that the internet has thousands and thousands of podcasts, stations and so on.

I'm pretty nostalgic for good radio. No cookies, no IPs, just a signal... Never did pirate, but did do duty at a couple of community stations here which were both great on a whole number of levels.

Except that millions of people (in the united states) don't have access to the internet and that those people are predominately poor people, people of color, and immigrants.

Hahahaha. Of course. I feel like an idiot.
I think there's one where I am, but they mostly play rap/dancehall and stuff like that, commercial-free.
It's also on 94.4, and here most cars have radios which only have odd numbers for the frequency (.0, .1, .3, .5, .7, .9) which is weird.
