So I thought this deserved a thread of its own. I honestly don't know as much of the details as I'd like, but I'm trying to start keeping a close eye on the situation after hearing about a narrow escape from danger by a friend living in Karachi. The Taliban is of course trying to intimidate voters, and going well beyond mere intimidation.

Setting aside my skepticism about electoralism for now, what are the prospects for leftists in Pakistan? I don't know much about the popular "Pakistan People's Party" except for that it was the party of Benazir Bhutto. Hardly radical leftists, but how worse/better could it be than them winning?

I support Imran Khan (he's the least bad out of all of them). He's also the only guy who opposes drones.

Zardari is a crook and US puppet. Nawaz Sharif is Pakistan's Ronald Reagan. Imran is the only option.

Who will win? Nawaz Sharif. (Unfortunately.)

Why though? No one I know seems to support him.
